KATIE MELUA
This is the third time Katie Melua comes to Montreux and this year she returns with her new album "Secret Symphony", released on March 5, 2012, which she will perform at the Auditorium Stravinski. The album was recorded with a symphony orchestra and is made up of covers from great songwriters which she appreciates, such as Ron Sexsmith. “I always wanted to set up a project like this one, singing other people’s songs to bring to them my personal touch and my voice”.
Tickets for this event will be available at a later date.
Miles Davis Hall, July 7
TRICKY performing “Maxinquaye” with MARTINA TOPLEY BIRD
After 15 years, the two pioneers of British trip-hop will be reunited onstage at the Miles Davis Hall. The producer/musician Tricky and the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Martina Topley-Bird will once again play the entire Maxinquaye album.
SPECTRUM ROAD
Lenny Kravitz’ drummer Cindy Blackman-Santana, keyboard player John Medeski, guitarist Vernon Reid and bass player Jack Bruce came together this year to create Spectrum Road. As a homage to Tony Williams, these virtuosos will kick-off the evening at the Miles Davis Hall.
As well as these two lovely nights which have been added to the programme, some of the opening acts will join the headliners on stage during this 46th edition:
