For her third time in Montreux KATIE MELUA will perform her new opus "Secret Symphony", released on March 5, 2012. The album was recorded with a symphony orchestra and is made up of covers from great songwriters such as Ron Sexsmith whom she particularly appreciates.
"I had always wanted to do this one day; singing other people's songs brings something out of you and your voice that isn't perhaps where you would have gone vocally with your own material."
Always prone to new musical discoveries, the Montreux Jazz Festival is pleased to receive JAMIE N COMMONS as Opening Act for this night.
Born in Bristol, 23 years-old singer and songwriter Jamie N Commons quickly attracted critical attention with his debut EP, "The Baron" released in 2011. Combining a Tom Waits-like raspy "street corner" voice with a dark and haunted vision of the world à la Nick Cave, he delivers a "21st century" version of Blues.
A true musical crush of the Festival, the young British talent announces a very promising warm up for this night!
